Saterday, 25e of julie, the 25e edition of the SummerCarnaval took place in the centre of Rotterdam.
The parade was appr. 2,5 km long, and exists of 26 floats and 29 groups. Totaly about 2300 competitors from all over the world.
Most of them from the caraïbian. Few islands in the caraïbian were dutch colonies, like Curacau and Bonaire.
Many of them live here in Holland.
The parade started at 13.00 under great weatherconditions dry, and sunny, and ended late in the evening.
All-over the centre were feasts, with drinks, music and food from the caraïbian; music also made by live Brassbands.
Anyaway, i looks like we take over some cuture from abroad.
Rotterdam „Multiculture City” (did you know that 55% of the inhabitants are from foreign countries and that the mayor is Moroccan) ?
