Today i will take you with me on my search to Romanian wine.
Where to find and what else to visit in these area’s.
This time i went to Dobrogea. ( The South East of Romania).
Dobrogea, the home of the Donau-Delta, an unique area with a breathtaking fauna, traditional fisher-villages.
You must visit Mila 23, from there you can make a tour (by boat) to see the great Pelican-colonies and not to forget to stop at a local bar too drink a good glass of their Catch.
South of the Delta i visit the historycal city Constanta.
Constanta is an important harbour at the blacksea and the focus centre of tourisme at the blacksea. South from here you find nice sand-beaches and many seaside-resorts with mythologic-names, like Jupiter, Olimp, Saturnus, Venus, Mangalia and many others and ended at the Bulgaryan border in Vama-Veche.
Anyway, will be time to get some wine, the main reason for my visit in these area.
So i went to one of the most famous vineyards “Murfatlar” in Constanta-county.
The vineyards are nearby the coast of the blacksea.
The relief of this area is made up of hills and fields presents the best conditions for viticulture.
A cool breeze from the Black Sea and more than 300 days of sunshine will make this the ideal place for the production of sweet dessert-wines from the late harvest of Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Muscat Ottonel.
There is also production of soft and rich red-wines from Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir.
But for the best Romanian Red-Wines i will take you another time to the Mehedinti region.
Noroc!
